The Institute of Anatomy of Masaryk University is part of the European Erasmus+ project called LEANbody from 2021. The project, led by anatomists from the University of Pécs, Hungary, aims to investigate the teaching of anatomy at several Central European universities (MUNI, University of Pécs, University of Zagreb) and its possible improvement compared to the standards at the University of Cambridge and Karolinska Institute. A dissemination meeting called Symposium on Quality Teaching in Anatomy was also held during the Morphology 2024 conference in Telč, where the results of the project were presented to anatomists from other Czech medical faculties and also to foreign participants from Slovakia, Slovenia and Iran.
The Morphology 2024 conference was held in the first half of September 2024 at the University Centre Telč with the 55th International Conference on Morphology 2024. International Congress of the Czech Anatomical Society and the 60th International Congress of the Czech Anatomical Society.Lojda Symposium on Histochemistry. This year, the Anatomical Institute of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University took over the organizing baton and recorded a record attendance with more than 150 participants. Invited international speakers included Professor Cecilia Brassett from the University of Cambridge, who specialises in anatomy and is active in teaching and research in anatomy, and Professor Zbigniew Kmieć from the University of Gdańsk, well known for his contributions in the field of histochemistry and cytochemistry, who was also President of the Polish Society for Histochemistry and Cytochemistry. The conference welcomed experts from various fields to share their knowledge and innovations. Participants covered multiple topics, such as neuroscience, molecular and cell biology, and developmental morphology.
