GeoBuilding Project - Steering Commitee Meeting in Zagreb

On 19 March 2026, a partner meeting held in Zagreb provided an opportunity for partners to review project progress, align upcoming tasks, and exchange experience in energy efficiency and geothermal energy use within the GeoBuilding project. Key tasks for the upcoming period were defined, including the completion, review and harmonisation of the methodological paper, the preparation of pilot investment documentation, and the initiation of data collection for the development of the virtual One-Stop-Shop (vOSS) platform database.

The GeoBuilding project is implemented within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Hungary–Croatia Programme and aims to promote geothermal energy refurbishments in the cross-border region. Launched in September 2025, the project brings together 8 Croatian and Hungarian partners and is led by the University of Pécs.

In the next phase, the focus will be on the preparation and implementation of pilot investments, alongside the wide dissemination of project results in the form of workshops to further promote the use of shallow geothermal energy in the cross-border area.

This project is supported by the Interreg Hungary - Croatia Programme and co-funded by the European Union.
