What are common beliefs and assumptions among anatomists about the essential quality elements of their existing teaching traditions? Do traditional teaching methods really hinder progress in medical education? Have you ever investigated the strengths of your local traditions in teaching anatomy in comparison with evidence based quality standards of education? Not all what is old is bad. LEANbody project partners are all convinced about the value of traditional anatomical teaching methods (e.g. cadaveric dissection). Rather than discarding traditional approaches, integrating them with technological tools (e.g. AI) and modern pedagogical frameworks (e.g. student centered pedagogy) may offer a balanced and effective teaching strategy for developing both technical skills and humanistic values of the doctors of the future.
