General description

The main goal of the CLIL in Medical Education project: Reaching for Tools to Teach Effectively in English in a Multicultural and Multilingual Learning Space (CLILMED) is to improve the language qualifications of the teaching staff (English) and cooperation with leading medical schools for innovation and exchange of good practices. Its implementation will start on October 31, 2019.

CLILMED's main assumption is to equip academic teachers with high language competences in the field of medical sciences and health care, which will allow them to work effectively in a multicultural environment, including teaching students from abroad and facilitating stays in foreign research centers. As part of the project, selected academic teachers will be educated based on the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) method, recommended by the European Commission for the promotion of language learning and linguistic diversity. Important features of this method are: systematic group work, selection of exercises that take into account different types of student intelligence, learning through different sensory channels, the use of sources and materials suitable for conducting integrated teaching, vocabulary useful for the CLIL lesson.
