What are common beliefs and assumptions among anatomists about professionalism? In 2021 we have asked Central European anatomists if they have ever heard about professional behavioural values and attitudes in the context of medical education. Less than 10% were convinced to know how to measure the development of professional attitudes of their students. A better understanding of the concept of professionalism could help anatomists significantly improve the relevance and impact of their teaching work in medical education.
