General description

The aim of the project is to effectively address the challenges of the aging population in the border region, particularly in Burgenland and Vas County. To this end, broader and higher-quality healthcare and personal services, as well as relevant knowledge, will be made accessible to the target group. Through cross-border knowledge sharing, joint developments, and cooperation, solutions will be developed to improve the quality of life of the elderly population.

At the beginning of the project, a comprehensive study will be conducted to assess the needs of elderly individuals and the institutions working with them, as well as to identify existing training opportunities and their gaps. Based on the results, an action plan will be developed to serve as a guideline for the creation of necessary new training programs and competencies. Special attention will be given to training related to healthcare, social, and recreational services, as well as to promoting social awareness.

The project will launch pilot training programs for professions that are particularly important for the aging society, such as dietitians, gerontologists, physiotherapists, senior animators, and home care assistants. Participants will also receive business knowledge to enable them to operate as independent service providers and flexibly respond to the growing societal demand. Additionally, innovative elements—such as aromatherapy and basal stimulation—will be incorporated into the training programs to modernize the educational content.

The project places special emphasis on showcasing best practices, allowing Austrian and Hungarian partners to share their successful models with each other. This cross-border cooperation will contribute to the further development of services and training programs, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals. Through awareness-raising initiatives, seniors will be actively involved in the project, encouraging a health-conscious and active lifestyle in old age.
