Strengthening connections through art - A Cross-border Art Synergy Project officially launched

On April 8, 2026, the opening event of the Cross-border Art Synergy project took place at the City Museum of Ilok. The project is implemented in partnership with the Faculty of Arts, University of Pécs within a consortium framework.

The initiative aims to strengthen mutual trust and foster collaboration among artists, educators, students, and parents, with a special focus on shared challenges in education and culture.

At the beginning of the event, Renata Banožić, Mayor of Ilok, welcomed the participants. This was followed by a presentation from the institution’s director, Marijana Jukić, who introduced the project details and the role of the museum. Endre Raffay, representing the University of Pécs, presented the Faculty of Arts and provided insight into similar existing programs.

The total project budget is € 119,920 80% of which is funded by the European Union. The project officially started on the 1st of April 2026, and will run for 12 months. During this period, an exciting research project and several workshops for artists and school groups will be carried out.

The project is co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Hungary–Croatia Programme.
