DRYvER project – General Assembly meeting and Training School in Pécs

In the autumn of 2023 (September-October) the Department of Hydrobiology, Faculty of Sciences, University of Pécs organized two consecutive events related to the DRYvER project (https://www.dryver.eu/). Namely, these were the 3rd General Assembly (GA) meeting and the Training School (TS) programs.

During the two-day (26-27/09/2023) GA organized in the Knowledge Centre (Tudásközpont), each Work Package (WP) reported on its progress, achievements so far, tasks completed and tasks yet to be completed. Altogether 42 participants attended the GA.

The five-day-long (28/09-02/10/2023) TS gave DRYvER's young researchers (from MSc to Postdoc level) the opportunity to get an insight into the scientific know-how and to acquire the skills of each WP. In addition to field measurement techniques, for example, guidelines and legislation were discussed, as well as the use of possible nature-based solutions, and the students were introduced to a number of modelling procedures (e.g. modelling of flow intermittency, modelling of greenhouse gas emissions, modelling of spatiotemporal connectivity with a meta-community ecological approach, etc.). In total, 30 people participated in the TS, 11 as trainers and 19 as trainees. Of course, in addition to the professional program, there was also the opportunity for a little "networking" during a social dinner, or during a trip to the Old-Drava Visitor Centre.
