Within the framework of the project “IMPACT: Boosting Capacity to Manage International Projects at V4 Universities” (No. 22510113), two professional online events were organised to strengthen the international project management capacities of universities in the Visegrad region.
On 20–21 November 2025, an online PM² Methodology Training was held, delivered by an external training provider. The training introduced participants to the fundamentals of project management and provided a comprehensive overview of the PM² methodology, including project roles and responsibilities, project phases, monitoring and control processes, and the use of key PM² artefacts. Participants also explored the practical application of the methodology through case studies. The training was conducted in English and offered participants the opportunity to obtain certification through an online exam.
As a continuation of the professional activities of the project, an online discussion panel entitled “Methods and Strategy of Finding Partners in International Projects” took place on 27 February 2026. The panel focused on cooperation between international partners and addressed key topics such as the importance of international collaboration in projects, strategies for identifying and selecting partners, expectations and responsibilities within project consortia, communication and management challenges, as well as legal, administrative, and cultural differences in international cooperation. The discussion also explored opportunities for sustaining cooperation beyond the lifetime of individual projects and developing long-term partnerships.
The panel featured presentations by representatives of the University of Ostrava, including Mgr. Jan Macháček, PhD, Vice-Dean for Development and Internationalisation, and Ing. Romana Bernátová, Project Manager, who shared their experiences and best practices in international project management.
The events provided an excellent platform for participants to exchange experiences, perspectives, and practical insights related to international project cooperation.
